Discover Bed & Breakfast of
Central America!

Central American Bed & Breakfast - Adventuring through
a country can be a life changing experience. You will love the freedom
to experience every thrilling incident that the landscape has to offer.
The things that you should keep in mind when looking for a
place to stay: (1) Is it located within reasonable access to the
activities that you want to do? (2) How much do you want spend without
breaking the bank? In cities you may want to choose a hostel but if you
are going for more remote locations, the local bed and breakfasts can
be a good option.
A traveller looking for an authentic flair in experiencing
Central American should try to avoid large commercial hotels. Bed and
Breakfasts are the perfect anecdote for this. They are small, intimate,
and usually substantially cheaper.
Bed and breakfasts are usually small guesthouses with 6 units
or less, which gives a good community feel and can enhance your
travelling experience as a result. The service is personalised and the
local owners often go out of their way to help with your activity
arrangements. Usually if they are not sure, they will point you in the
right direction of someone that can.
One major advantage of a bed & breakfast is that the
cost can be lower. A price range of $21 to $60 per
night for basic amenities is reasonably possible. The Marvitar
Guesthouse in the town of Corozal, Belize is a perfect
example.
For that extra comfort in a beach jungle hideaway (like the Buena
Vista Surf Club in Nicaragua) you should expect to pay about
$85 per night. A comfy bed and a good breakfast to start the day is a
perfect way to enjoy your travels from this eco-lodge! Where
the monkeys off your balcony and the crimson sunsets are absolutely
priceless...
This type of lodging option also gives you a chance to sample
some of the awesome local dishes as well. The pupusas of Honduras and
El Salvador, traditional Panama egg dishes and the Pao de Banano of
Guatemala, are all something that should not be missed. They are all
just as delicious as they sound!
You can find most bed and breakfasts in tour books such as The
Lonely Planet. Booking agencies, Internet searches are other options to
look before you head out on your chosen destination. Once at your first
stop, ask around as the locals and other travellers may have some
suggestions and will be happy to make recommendations on where to lay
your head for the night.
When choosing where to stay, remember that location is the
most important factor. If you are looking for 5-star hotels then
perhaps this type of lodging is not for you! However, if you prefer
small, intimate and quaint then try the bed & breakfast route.
The money you save can be better used for trying those 'adrenalin -
rush' activities that the country has to offer!
